Frequently asked questions about Friendly AI and AI prompts

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Friendly AI?

Friendly AI is a free prompt library. We give you ready-made templates that you can copy and paste into any AI tool to get great results — no experience required.

Do I need to create an account?

Nope! You can browse and copy prompts without signing up. Creating an account lets you save favorites and track what you've tried, but it's totally optional.

What AI tools work with these prompts?

All of them! Our prompts are plain text, so they work with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, and any other AI chat tool. Just copy, paste, and go.

Do I need to pay for an AI tool?

Most AI tools have free tiers that work great for casual use. You don't need a paid subscription to use our prompts. The free versions of ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini will all work.

What are the [brackets] in the prompts?

Those are placeholders for your personal details. When you see something like [your name] or [topic], replace it (brackets and all) with your own info before sending the prompt.

What if I get a bad response?

Totally normal! Try these quick fixes:

  • Be more specific — add details about what you want
  • Ask it to try again — "That's not quite right. Can you try a different approach?"
  • Adjust the tone — "Make it more casual" or "Make it more professional"
  • Break it down — ask for one piece at a time instead of everything at once

Is it safe to use AI for personal stuff?

A few common-sense rules:

  • Don't share passwords, SSNs, or financial account numbers with AI tools
  • Don't paste sensitive work documents unless your company allows it
  • Check your AI tool's privacy policy — they vary on how data is stored
  • Treat AI output as a draft — always review before sending emails, submitting work, etc.

Can AI write my emails/reports/homework for me?

AI can help you draft things, but you should always review and edit the output. Think of it as a starting point, not a finished product. For school work specifically, check your institution's policies on AI use.

How is this different from just asking AI a question?

Our prompts are structured to get consistently good results. They include the right role-setting, context, and formatting instructions so you don't have to figure that out yourself. It's the difference between a blank page and a well-designed form.

Will you add more prompts?

Yes! We're adding new prompts regularly. If there's something specific you'd like to see, let us know.
